Arrival by plane

Naples has an International Airport called Capodichino. The airport has good links to main European cities like London, Paris, Frankfurt, Munich and main Italian cities like Milan and Rome by direct flights. It is located at a 7 km from the city centre.

Participants are suggested to fly directly to the Airport of Napoli Capodichino scheduling stop in one of the main cities listed above and others.

Alternatively, the best and closest destination is Rome Fiumicino. Form this Airport participants will need to take a train called Leonardo Express leaving from a railways station located at the airport from platform 24 each 30 minutes (tickets cost EUR 14,00). Leonardo Express takes about 32 minutes to the Railways Station of Rome Termini. From Rome Termini fast trains called Freccia Rossa and Freccia Argento or Italotreno leave about each hour to Napoli, taking about 1 hour and 15 minutes.

A taxi service is available at the airport in Rome but the distance between Rome and Naples is about 200 km. so the taxi will be really very expensive.

Arrival by car

From Rome, Autostrada del Sole A1, from Bari, Autostrada A14, from Reggio Calabria, Autostrada A3, exit at Naples City Centre – Porto – Via Marina. The Venue is in the ZTL area, ask at your hotel for parking and car access permissions.

Arrival by train

The main railway station of Napoli is called Napoli Centrale – Piazza Garibaldi.
Napoli has good train connections through High Speed Trains (Eurostar or Freccia Rossa and Italotreno) with all main Italian cities.

High speed trains stop at Napoli Centrale Piazza Garibaldi. The station is linked to the city centre by underground, public buses or taxi.

From “Capodichino Airport” and “Napoli Centrale” railway station to the conference venue

Although public transportation is available to the city centre (Bus n° 151 from the station and Alibus from the airport) this doesn’t take you straight to the Conference venue.
We kindly suggest participants to reach their Hotels or the Conference venue with authorized taxi, which can be easily found outside the station and the airport and are relatively cheap.

Taxi have taximeter to calculate the final fare of your journey but the best is to ask them to apply for a fixed fare (in Italian: tariffa predeterminata) which is EUR 23,00 from the airport to the Conference venue and EUR 13,00 from the station to the Conference Venue. Please agree with the driver this fare before leaving.

Moving in the city

Naples has a nice and brand new underground line in addition to 3 cable cars, public buses, electric cars and bike sharing, which can help you to move around the city during your stay.
