President of Versaggi Biocommunications®, a marketing consultancy specializing in corporate, financial and marketing communications for the global life sciences industry. With more than 25 years’ experience in marketing, communications and entrepreneurship, Versaggi has helped to launch many industry firsts, including the first genetically engineered vaccine, the first applications of minimally invasive surgery, and the first genomic disease management products. He serves as a pro bono mentor and boot camp director for life science startups at Mind the Bridge Foundation, and for the Italian Trade Commission. He is a writer and guest speaker on entrepreneurship, and a guest lecturer in marketing at the University of California Santa Cruz Extension. Versaggi has also served as a board member and co-chair of VascularCures — The Foundation for Accelerated Vascular Research at the University of California, San Francisco.
Prior to serving as manager of bioindustrial account services for Regis McKenna Inc., he was a science reporter for The Milwaukee Journal and a Mass Media Science Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He holds a doctorate in biological sciences from the University of California at Santa Barbara and master’s and bachelor’s degrees from S.F. State University.
